Use cases

Six everyday situations where Pravilny VPN is genuinely useful – and where its benefit should not be overstated.

1. Public Wi-Fi: cafés, airports, hotels

On open networks your traffic passes through equipment run by strangers. Encryption stops a neighbour on the network, or the owner of the hotspot, from reading what you send. The “Public Wi-Fi” scenario turns protection on as soon as you join such a network.

2. Travelling abroad

Banks and corporate services often block sign-ins from an unfamiliar country. With the “Travel” scenario you connect through the country you normally use your services from, and calmly check mail, pay bills and work. Please use only the services and content you are allowed to use under their terms and the law.

3. Remote work and co-working spaces

Freelancers and employees working from co-working spaces, dormitories and rented flats use networks whose settings they do not control. An extra encrypted channel lowers the risk of work data being intercepted. It does not replace your company’s security policy or two-factor authentication.

4. Family and the “VPN for parents”

Parents and teenagers need protection without settings. The simple “Family” scenario switches on with one tap, and the “What is happening” screen explains the status in plain words – no technical terms that scare people who are far from IT.

5. Online shopping and banking on untrusted networks

Payment data should be protected wherever you pay. A VPN adds another layer of encryption on networks you do not trust. Remember: the main protection for payments comes from the bank itself, HTTPS and your own caution.

6. Fewer traces for advertising profiles

Providers and ad networks can link your IP address to your browsing history. A VPN hides your real address from the sites you visit and makes that matching harder. This reduces traces but does not make you anonymous: accounts, cookies and browser fingerprints still work.

What we deliberately do not support. Breaking the law or copyright, fraud, spam, hacking, and bypassing the rules of platforms and services. If that is what you need, Pravilny VPN is not for you.

How to choose a scenario

  • Joining someone else’s Wi-Fi – choose “Public Wi-Fi”.
  • Flying or driving to another country – “Travel”.
  • Working away from the office – “Remote work”.
  • Setting up a phone for parents or children – “Family”.

Frequently asked questions

Short answers to the questions people ask most.

We do not design the app to get around laws or the rules of services. Use it to protect your connection, and only with services you are legally entitled to use.

At home, on your own secured network, it is optional. It matters more on open and unfamiliar networks: cafés, hotels, airports, co-working spaces and dorms.

Encryption and the extra route can lower speed slightly. If speed drops, try another scenario or country.

Yes, with a parent’s involvement. The “Family” scenario is made for simple protection with no settings. Children under 16 need parental supervision.
